In the struggle between man and
machine, man used to hold an upper hand.

Competition began last week

bots to the test during three days

the championship and its
accompanying $100,000 prize,

Palace. It's no surprise as PokerBotPro
is the predecessor of
Vex Bot which also proved capable of beating humans but lacked
the multiplayer aspect PokerBot Pro
provides.
After Poker Bot Pro emerged
victorious, it faced off against
poker pro Phil Laak testing whether
PokerBot Pro
expertise could knock
out an expert human player as well.
Poker Bot Pro
started
off slow folding many hands while
building its table presence as a
rock (very tight player), with Phil
Laak beating the software, things
took an interesting
turn.
Two
hours into the heads-up match Phil
thought he had a pretty good read
on PokerBot Pro, but as it
turns out Poker Bot Pro picked
up on a betting pattern from Phil then
Capitalized on it re-raising
with only Q high forcing Phil to
fold his hand. Once PokerBot Pro had Phils betting patterns down
Poker Bot-Pro became more aggressive and in less than
thirty minutes later it was all
over. Man must finally turn the
reigns over to machine. The PokerBot Pro
software took exactly 2:26 to beat
one of the best human players
around.
